Walks

We are building this up as we are get more information.  We certainly welcome any feedback or information from our guests, especially if you find something of particular interest we have not covered here.

We have found that as a general rule the coastal path walks are all very good and the scenery can be absolutely stunning. These walks can be quite challenging in parts with steep hills to climb, but it is well worth it for those that can do it.  We advise proper walking boots or shoes if you plan to do any distance.

So far we have walked the coastal path from Land's End to Falmouth (not all at once !) and have loved every part.  There are guides and maps in the house for you to plan your journey.  When time permits we will add our own notes to the walks guide, but would also welcome any other contributions.  Please email us if there is any way we can help in planning your walks.

Cornishman Walks Guide

This site contains walks and pictures  of  Coastal  Path walks in Cornwall.

Porthleven to Rinsey

3 hours round trip.

6 minutes walk to the star at Ship Inn.

This is part of the South West Coastal path. You can join it from Porthleven by heading past the Ship Inn and near the top of the hill taking the left fork in the path to the public footpath.

Thereafter keep to the marked path

The walk can be quite strenuous (unless you are a seasoned walker ) with steep sections to go up or down since you are following the coast profile.

On a good day  the views are outstanding.

Near Rinsey you will pass some disused tin mines.

Rinsey to Marazion

3 hours each way.

Car to Rinsey 10 minutes

Or 20 minute walk along road to Rinsey Road.

A walk with outstanding views, beaches and coves.

Will take about 3 hours.

We advise getting bus back to Praa Sand or Rinsey.

Porthleven to Mullion

Kynance to Lizard Point

Car to Lizard or Kynance 30 minutes.

Walk about 2 hours.

One of  the most picturesque walks along the coastal path, especially on a sunny day.

You can either start at the Lizard NT Car Park or the or the one at Kynance.  Both have a cafe and toilets, but the little restaurant at Lizard is one of our favourites for food and in good weather eating outside watching the sea and sometimes the seals.

You can have a shorter and easier walk back by taking the overland footpath.
