Notes

Eden Project Mevagissy

Lost Gardens of Heligan

Charleston

A39 to Truro then

A390 to St  Austell.

Signs for Eden Project

Eden will take most of the day to go round properly, but you can also stop at Mevagissy for the picture postcard harbour  village.

These are close to St. Austell , and you can get there on the direct route on the A390 via Truro, or try some of the country roads.

Aternatives near to St Austell  are:

  • The Lost Gardens of Heligan  well worth a  visit

  • A quaint little harbour at Charleston normally with a couple of tall ships in dock.  It also has the Shipwreck and Sea Rescue museum.

St. Ives.

Zennor

Pendeen

Cape Cornwall

Porthcurno

St Ives can be busy and bustling in the high season, but well worth the visit for view shops and that famous clarity of light that attracts so many artists.

Parking is very difficult so we recommend using the outlying long term ones, or using the “train and ride “ from Hayle.

Come back via the coastal road for a scenic route, stopping at Zennor, Pendeen Watch and Cape Cornwall of you have time.   Cape Cornwall will provide you with a lovely sunset if the weather is right and you can time it correctly.

Other places on route could be Porthcurno & Minack Theatre, Lamorna Cove and Mousehole.

That would make it quite a full day !

Bodmin Moor.

Lanhydrock

1 hour

A trip across the moor for a scenic ride, possibly visiting Lanhydrock NT house and Garden, which is one of the biggest and finest in Cornwall.  The rooms and kitchens are of special interest.

Falmouth and Roseland Peninsula.

45 minutes

Scenic rides, gardens, castles and even a potential ferry up the Fal estuary
